Huckabee Meets with Sanyo Execs

JUNE 27, 2006 - Posted at 4:28 p.m. CST

OSAKA, JAPAN - Governor Huckabee, who is continuing his economic mission to Asia, has met with Sanyo executives in Osaka, Japan.

Sanyo operates a television manufacturing plant at Forrest City.  Huckabee says he met last night with Sanyo's "top tier of management" and says the executives had praise for workers at their Arkansas plant.

The Sanyo factory in Forrest City has about 650 workers and is the city's largest private employer.

Huckabee says he was assured that Sanyo would do all it can to ensure the Forrest City plant remains a source of profit for the company.

Huckabee's comments are from a Web posting by the governor's office.
