4th of July Visitors to the Clinton Library

July 4, 2006 -- Posted at 3:49 p.m. CDT

LITTLE ROCK, AR -- More than three-thousand people visited the Clinton Library next to downtown Little Rock Tuesday.

The library gave free Hope watermelons to the first 100 guests. An actor in the character of President Harry Truman drew big crowds for his performances and plenty of people also toured the Clinton School of Public Service.

Skip Rutherford, who is dean of the school, says as many as 20 potential students visited the school's campus on the library grounds.

Rutherford says the school had one of its best single days recruiting. Tuesday was the first time the Clinton library has been open on a major holiday.
