Butterflies Highlight New Branson Attraction

JULY 5, 2006 - Posted at 7:49 a.m. CDT

BRANSON, MO - Visitors to a new Branson attraction can watch more than a thousand butterflies fluttering among the plants that provide the food they need.

The 7,000-square-foot Butterfly Palace and Rainforest Adventure took more than a year to build and cost $4 million.

The dome-topped facility sits on a hill across from celebration city.

The Butterfly Palace has two 35-seat, 3D theaters that show a film about butterflies.  And there's a miniature zoo with such creatures as poison dart frogs and giant cockroaches.
