Giuliani to Campaign for Hutchinson in Arkansas

JULY 7, 2006 - Posted at 3:09 p.m. CDT

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Former New York City mayor and possible presidential contender Rudy Giuliani will visit Arkansas on Tuesday to campaign with Republican gubernatorial candidate Asa Hutchinson.

"Rudy and I have been friends for more than 20 years, having served together as U.S. Attorneys under President Reagan, and I've worked with him when I was at the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Department of Homeland Security," said Hutchinson.  "We're delighted to welcome him to Arkansas to visit with our supporters and to address the Arkansas Governor's School students."

Following a distinguished career as a federal prosecutor, Giuliani served two terms as New York's mayor.  Shortly before leaving office, he emerged as a national hero due to his commanding response to the 9/11 terror attacks on his city, and was named Time magazine's "Man of the Year" for 2001.

Giuliani will spend the morning campaigning with Hutchinson at a breakfast in Little Rock, and then speak at the Governor's School in Conway.
