LITTLE ROCK, AR - National Guard members are deploying this morning, heading from Arkansas to the Mexico border to help border police.

The soldiers have been finishing paperwork and receiving shots at Camp Robinson.  Those being deployed are with Arkansas' 39th Infantry Brigade, and they'll assist the New Mexico National Guard, part of President Bush's plan to increase the number of guards along the U.S.-Mexico border by 6,000.

Nearly 300 Arkansas soldiers are expected to be helping patrol the border by the end of the month.
