SEARCY, AR - Searcy-based Yarnell Ice Cream Company announced today it will buy Angel Food Ice Cream from Klinke Brothers Ice Cream Company.  Yarnell will assume manfacture, distribution and promotion of the line that has been based in Memphis, Tennessee.

Financial terms were not disclosed.  The move leaves Klinke Brothers to focus on its Baskin-Robbins franchises.

Yarnell distributes national labels that include Haagen-Dazs, Nestle, and Dreyer's/Edy's.

Rogers Yarnell said the addition of the Angel Food brand will give the company an important presence in Tennessee, Mississippi and southwestern Kentucky.

Yarnell was founded in 1932 in Searcy, where it still has its home base.  The company operates a manufacturing plant in Searcy and has eleven branch operations in three states.  Yarnell's brand is sold in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas.
