Region 8 Candidate Asks Senate to Hold Hearing on Muffed Election

LITTLE ROCK, AR - A state representative is challenging his loss on a recount in a state Senate race in Region 8.  Mike Easley, an attorney for Representative Arnell Willis, said in a petition filed with the Senate on Friday, "the odor of impropriety hung like a cloud" over the June 13 run-off.  That was when Willis' run-off victory was reversed in a re-count.

Results in Senate District 16 originally showed Willis defeating Jack Crumbly by 28 votes.  A re-count the next week in St. Francis County gave Crumbly 100 more votes, making him the winner.
