LITTLE ROCK, AR - A panel of doctors and ethicists are developing recommendations as to who would get antiviral medication if a flu pandemic hits.
State health officials say Arkansas will have enough anti-flu medication for about 600,000 people by next year. The medicine will help about a quarter of the state's nearly 2,800,000 residents in case of a pandemic. The Legislature has allocated $6 million to purchase the anti-viral medication, and the federal government has awarded $2 million in matching funds.
