LITTLE ROCK, AR - A source has told the Associated Press that complications from pneumonia have put Lieutenant Governor Win Rockefeller in a hospital intensive care unit. Rockefeller recently returned to Arkansas after unsuccessful treatment in Seattle, for a disorder that can lead to leukemia.
Rockefeller had two bone marrow transplants at Seattle's Cancer Care Alliance on October 7 and March 29.
The procedures failed to adequately treat the disorder and Rockefeller returned to Arkansas on Saturday.
A source close to the Rockefeller family says the 57-year-old lieutenant governor is in intensive care at UAMS after suffering complications due to pneumonia. The source, who spoke only on the condition of anonymity, did not know how the hospital characterized Rockefeller's condition. An Internet blog report on the Arkansas Times Website yesterday reported Rockefeller's condition as "grave."
