JONESBORO, AR - KAIT has been nationally recognized by the ABC Network for the station's promotional advertising work.

Jonesboro's ABC affiliate received an Alpha Award from the network for a sports promo ad produced in March, to promote the station's broadcasts of the Southeastern Conference men's basketball tournament.

The ad was produced by marketing producer Marcus Carlton, who was assisted by Jeremy Shirley and Richard Bressler.

"I was shocked," said Carlton.  "For a smaller market to beat out others like New York and L.A. is really something."

The Alpha Award is a network recognition for outstanding, creative and effective on-air promos.  KAIT shared the sports promotion category award with nominees from Seattle, Minnesota and Milwaukee.

KAIT is owned and operated by Raycom Media Inc. of Montgomery, Alabama.
