Opry Star, Region 8 Native Wagoner Hospitalized in Nashville

NASHVILLE, TN - Grand Ole Opry Star and Region 8 native Porter Wagoner was hospitalized in Nashville today.

The 78-year-old country singer from West Plains, Missouri, became ill at his home and was undergoing tests at the hospital.

The exact nature of his illness has not been released.

Wagoner, famous for his rhinestone suits, helped launch the career of Dolly Parton by hiring her as his duet partner in 1967.
