Rockefeller Memorial Services Set for Thursday

JULY 17, 2006 - Posted at 1:46 p.m. CDT

LITTLE ROCK, AR - The body of Lieutenant Governor Win Rockefeller will lie in state at the Capitol in Little Rock on Wednesday and a memorial service will be held Thursday.  Rockefeller died yesterday after unsuccessful treatment for a blood disorder.  He was 57.

Rockefeller's body will lie-in-state at the Capitol rotunda from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday and the memorial service will be held at the Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church in Little Rock on Thursday at 1 p.m.

The family asks that memorials be sent to the Quapaw Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.  Rockefeller had a three decades relationship with the Boy Scouts, serving on its national council's executive board.

He served for many years as an assistant scoutmaster for Troop 12 and attended Scout camp regularly.  Camp Rockefeller, a summer camp in north central Arkansas, was dedicated in his honor in July 2005.
