SEARCY, AR - A White County man has been arrested on numerous charges of neglect and cruelty involving pit bulls.
David Jolly is accused of leaving 16 pit bulls and four other dogs nearly dead from dehydration in scorching hot weather. The Pulaski County Humane Society found one dog dead with its head caught in the fork of a tree. The property had no running water, and there was dirt in the dogs' water bowls. The Humane Society says the dogs were covered in fleas and some had open wounds.
The agency is looking into whether the dogs were being used for fighting. The Humane Society says four dogs in small pens could have been bait dogs used to teach the pit bulls how to kill.
