Three Robberies...One Suspect

July 17, 2006 -- 9:15 PM CDT

JONESBORO, AR -- The Jonesboro Police Department is investigating a string of robberies.

Three convenience stores were robbed this past weekend.  Sgt. Steve McDaniel of the Jonesboro Police Department said this marks the sixth robbery within the past two weeks.

"The Criminal Investigation Division is currently investigating those robberies, and we're trying to find the suspect," he said.

The three stores that were held up were all on the southside of Jonesboro...the Citgo Flash Market on South Caraway Road and the BP and Kum and Go stations on Stadium Boulevard.

Police said the suspect was armed and demanded money from the clerks.  He got away with about $1,500 from the three robberies.

"We have reason to believe that the robberies may be related to each other and we are looking for a suspect," said McDaniel.

To report any information on these robberies contact the Jonesboro Police Department.
