Missouri Prosecutor Drops Lawsuit Alleging Sex Ring

JULY 19, 2006 - Posted at 3:40 p.m. CDT

HOUSTON, MO - An Ozarks prosecutor has dropped a lawsuit alleging that two women tried to smear his reputation by running a sex ring out of his office.

Texas County Prosecutor Mike Anderson had filed a lawsuit in May against a former employee and a county court worker.  But court documents show Anderson's attorney filed a voluntary dismissal on July 10.

Anderson, a Republican, is running unopposed for re-election this year.

Anderson's suit sought unspecified damages from former employee Monica Daniel and a current associate court worker, Mildred Williams.  Attorneys for Anderson and the women were not available for comment.
