PARAGOULD, AR - A 23-year-old Paragould man has been arrested on an identity theft charge after allegedly spending more than $6,000 from his mother's checking account without her permission.

Adam Malady was arrested on charges of financial identity fraud, second degree forgery and felony theft.  Police say Malady went to a "pay for" Web site on the Internet and charged the times he went on the site to his mother's checking account.  Police say Malady forged checks on the account as well as charged the account for purchases he made on the Home Shopping Network.

He is to appear in court August 7.
