U.S. Marshals Arrest Pocahontas Fugitive in Central America

JULY 31, 2006 - Posted at 11:25 a.m. CDT

BELIZE - A Pocahontas man has been arrested by federal authorities in the Central American country of Belize.

Roger Huskey, 59, was arrested last night by U.S. Marshals in a mountainous region about 100 miles outside of Belize City.  Belize is a small nation on the eastern Carribean Sea coast of Central America, bordered by Mexico to the northwest and Guatemala to the south and west.

Bob Clark of the U.S. Marshal's Service says Huskey was wanted by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for conspiracy to distribute marijuana.  Clark says Huskey was one of six people indicted by a federal grand jury in May 2005.  Huskey was also wanted by the FBI on charges of bank fraud.  He had been on the run for approximately one year.
