No Injuries in 18 Wheeler-Train Collision in East Jonesboro

JONESBORO, AR - No one was hurt this morning when an 18-wheeler was clipped by a train in east Jonesboro.

The accident occured at approximately 11:30 a.m., when a 2001 Freightliner driven by 53-year-old Alwyne Starnes of Ft. Cobb, Oklahoma was struck in the rear of its trailer by an eastbound Burlington Northern-Santa Fe freight, at the rail crossing on Industrial Drive.

Police say Starnes had just turned north onto Industrial Drive off of East Highland when the accident occured.
