Entergy Asks Federal Panel to Dismiss Arkansas Complaint

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Arkansas regulators' analysis of Entergy Corporation's costs and system relations is simplistic at best.  That's what the company told a federal regulatory agency yesterday.

Entergy asked the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission yesterday to dismiss a complaint filed in June by the Arkansas Public Service Commission.  The PSC had asked for a hearing on Entergy's generation and transmission prices.

The PSC request is an effort to reduce, or eliminate, an expected increase in rates paid by Entergy Arkansas customers as a result of an FERC-ordered multi-state rate equalization plan.

In a filing with the FERC, Entergy said the PSC analysis recycles allegations from other groups, including statements by merchant generators on ways production costs might be lowered.
