JONESBORO, AR - Former Bono police chief Rick Duhon pleaded guilty to first degree sexual assault today in Craighead County Circuirt Court.

Court officials were expecting to merely set a trial date for Duhon this morning, but instead the case was resolved when Duhon pleaded guilty, and was sentenced to six years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections, plus five years suspended sentence.

The 52-year-old Duhon must also register as a sexual offender.

He was arrested in January after allegations of sexual misconduct with a 14-year-old Bono girl.  Two days later, he resigned as Bono's police chief.
