JONESBORO, AR - A Bay man was formally charged with capital murder this afternoon in the death of a Jonesboro woman whose body was found Saturday in Big Bay Ditch, in eastern Craighead County.

A man described as her estranged boyfriend and identified as James Waller, 23, has been in custody since Saturday, and was formally charged in a probable cause hearing at 1 p.m. in Craighead County District Court.  The victim is identified as 24-year-old Cassandra Adney.

Waller was arrested Saturday on drug-related charges.

Judge Keith Blackman set bond for Waller at $1 million.

According to a missing persons report filed by the victim's mother, Adney had been in a dispute with Waller regarding child custody and child support.

Adney was reported missing last Wednesday and her body was found Saturday near Bay by a farmer.

The incident marks the fourth homicide in Craighead County this year.
