Clinton to Headline Fundraiser for Beebe

AUGUST 10, 2006 - Posted at 7:46 a.m. CDT

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Former President Clinton will headline a fundraiser next month for Mike Beebe, the Democratic nominee for Arkansas governor.  An invitation to the event says Clinton will host a "fish and frog leg" fundraiser at North Little Rock's Alltel Arena on September 7.

Beebe campaign spokesman Zac Wright said yesterday he didn't have any information on how much the fundraiser would cost or how many people are expected at the event.

Beebe, a former state senator, served in the Legislature when Clinton was Arkansas governor.

Beebe is running against Republican nominee Asa Hutchinson, a former congressman who served as one of the House managers in the 1999 impeachment case against Bill Clinton.
