Woman Killed This Morning in Car/Pedestrian Accident in East Jonesboro

JONESBORO, AR - A 50-year-old Craighead County woman was killed this morning after being struck by a vehicle along U.S. 63, near the Commerce Drive exit.

The investigating trooper with the Arkansas State Police told K8 News the accident occured at approximately 5:52 a.m. when Sandra Calton of Cash was struck by a vehile while walking along Highway 63.  The accident occured as a pick-up driven by 46-year-old Chris Johnson of Jonesboro was exiting Commerce Drive and merging onto U.S. 63.

State Police say the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.  It was dark and raining at the time of the accident.
