Pilot of Guard Chopper that Crashed Is Son of Jackson County Lawmaker

BERRYVILLE, AR - The pilot of the Arkansas Army National Guard helicopter that went down in the mountains of Carroll County while on drug surveillance patrol Wednesday has ties to Region 8.

The 0H-58A Kiowa went down shortly after take-off from the Carroll County Airport in Berryville was piloted by Major Tim Dickinson, 36, of Little Rock.  Dickinson is hospitalized in fair condition at the Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.  He is the son of state Representative Tommy Dickinson (D) of Newport.

The National Guard continues to investigate the crash.
