CAMPBELL, MO - Authorities in Dunklin County are investigating a bizarre incident that occured Saturday afternoon in Campbell.

According to Sheriff Bob Holder, 22-year-old Billy Gene Meadows, Jr. of Campbell entered the Dollar General Store there at approximately 6:30 p.m. carrying a .22-caliber rifle.  After entering the store, he shot his estranged girlfriend, 18-year-old Kasi Flowers of Malden.  Holder says Flowers was an employee at the store.  After shooting the woman, Meadows shot himself, according to Holder.  Both Flowers and Meadows were pronounced dead at the scene as a result of their wounds.

The incident remains under investigation by sheriff's department, the Campbell Police Department, and the Missouri Highway Patrol.  Assisting at the crime scene were members of the Malden and Clarkton police departments.
