BATON ROUGE, LA - Arkansas utility regulators have a lot of company in their request for a federal investigation of Entergy Corporation's business practices.  More than 50 large corporations, trade associations, consumer groups, local government agencies and utility regulators have joined the request.

The Arkansas Public Service Commission made the request in June to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.  Entergy has asked the FERC to dismiss the request, saying it is based on a simplistic analysis.

Edison Electric Institute, a utility company trade association, ranked Entergy Gulf States and Entergy Louisiana, two subsidiaries operating in Louisiana, as selling the nation's first and third most-expensive electricity for industrial users.  Entergy Louisiana has the third highest bills for commercial users and Entergy Gulf States ranks fourth.
