Forrest City Teen Charged with Raping 3-Year-Old Cousin

FORREST CITY, AR - A Forrest City teenager has been charged with three counts of rape as the result of an investigation that began in May.

Mario Smith, 16, is being charged as an adult in the case, which was investigated by the Arkansas State Police's Crimes Against Children division.  Smith allegedly had improper sexual contact that was described as a 3-year-old male cousin.

The Forrest City Police Department assisted with the investigation, which also revealed that may have sexual contact with two other male relatives, ages 4 and 5. 

Smith was arrested Tuesday evening, and is being held on a $60,000 bond in the St. Francis County jail.  He was arraigned this afternoon and is being charged as an adult in the case.
