Ducks Unlimited Hosts Fun Day

August 27, 2006 -- 11:15 PM CDT

GREENE COUNTY, AR -- It was a rainy day at the Ducks Unlimited Green Wing Fun Day Sunday, but the rain didn't stop the excitement.

"The Paragould Ducks Unlimited strives on building a better future for tomorrow, and this fun day is about the kids who are the future," said Brian Murray.

Murray sits on the Paragould Ducks Unlimited committee, and said that it's all about the children.

"I have a little girl myself," he said.  "She's one-year-old, and if I don't introduce her to Ducks Unlimited at an early age, she'll never know anything about it.  So that's why I got involved."

Derek Exum said he got involved for the same reason.

"We bring the children out here, and just let them have fun," said Exum.  "We have a BB gun range, a beginner and intermediate ski range and we have the inflatables to let them jump in."

There was also a demonstration on gun safety.  Children were able to learn a little about a lot as they enjoyed their super-fantastic day.
