NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR - About 70 Arkansas National Guard soldiers will head for Iraq tomorrow from Fort Hood, Texas, where they have been training for five months.  That announcement came today from the Arkansas Guard's headquarters at Camp Robinson in North Little Rock.

The soldiers, members of the 77th Aviation Brigade's 185th Aviation Regiment, left Camp Robinson on March 30 to begin their training with the Texas National Guard's 36th Combat Aviation Brigade.  The Arkansas unit will serve with the Texas unit in Iraq.

A news release from the state's guard's headquarters said that, in Iraq, the Arkansas soldiers and the UH60 Blackhawk helicopters they fly will provide transport to other soldiers as they are sent to or returned from specific sites.  The release said the deployment is expected to last year.
