CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO - The producers of a movie filmed in Cape Girardeau reportedly pumped more than $700,000 in to the southeast Missouri city's economy in January, which multiplies into a total economic impact of over $2 million, according to state officials.

The Southeast Missourian newspaper, meanwhile, reports that the release date for the movie has been postponed from the original October 20 release date to a more vague category of fall 2006.  The movie is based on an Elmore Leonard book that was partially set in Cape Girardeau.

The movie is being produced by noted film-maker Quentin Tarantino.
