Bar Fight on Craighead-Dunklin County Lines Results in Charges Against Bootheel Man

KENNETT, MO - A 49-year-old Cardwell man has been charged with first degree assault and armed criminal action for his role in an incident that occured on August 4 at the Landing Bar in Red Onion, Missouri, just north of Monette, Arkansas.

According to Dunklin County Sheriff Bob Holder, Harvey Beasley "knowingly caused serious physical injury to Jackie Taylor by striking him in the head with a flashlight and/or a pool cue."  Taylor, 35, of Hornersville, was taken to Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould before being transferred to a Memphis hospital for more extensive treatment of his injuries.

Beasley posted at $25,000 bond and was released from custody.
