Caldwell Mayor Says He Can Be St. Francis County's Judge, Too

CALDWELL, AR - Caldwell Mayor Gary Hughes says he doesn't know of any law that says he can't also become a county judge.

Hughes has won the Democratic Party nomination for St. Francis County judge and faces no Republican opposition in November.  He's also been mayor of Caldwell for 20 years and faces no opposition in that race either.  Hughes said he wasn't planning to run for mayor again, but nobody else came forward.

Hughes has been on the St. Francis County Quorum Court for two years.
