Chancellor Candidate Interviews Start Today at ASU

JONESBORO, AR - On-campus visits and interviews with the candidates for chancellor of Arkansas State University's Jonesboro campus begin today.

Dr. Norval Pohl, past president of the University of North Texas, is spending today on the campus.  Pohl met with the university's Presidential Search Advisory Committee this morning, as well as the Staff Senate Executive Committee and the Council of Adademic Deans. 

Several other private meetings are scheduled for this afternoon, before a public forum at 3:30 at the Student Union Auditorium.  At 5 p.m., a public reception is scheduled at the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce.

On Thursday, former chancellor of the University of North Dakota system, will visit the campus.

    A Pocahontas man allegedly beat another man with a baseball bat and bit part of his ear off for "disrespecting" a woman he cares for. Police say he later beat that same woman with a bat too.
