Fund Established for Newport Accident Victims

NEWPORT, AR - A fund to benefit the families of last night's tragic accident at Hardee's restaurant in Newport has been established at the Merchant and Planter's Bank in Newport.

The fund was set up at the request of Stacy Schmidt, president of Diamond Related Companies/Hardee's of Newport.  Contributions may be made in person at the bank, or mailed to Merchants and Planters Bank, P.O. Box 650, Newport, AR, 72112.  Checks should be made payable to "Friends of the 9/5 Accident."  The funds are to be administered to the families of victims by the clergy of Newport area churches.
