FEMA Now Wants to Construct Building at Hope Airport

HOPE, AR - Officials with the Federal Emergency Management Agency say they want to build a permanent structure at the Hope Municipal Airport to store the 10,000 mobile homes that were moved there after Hurricane Katrina last year.

The building would be used to store emergency supplies, including food - Meals Ready To Eat - for distribution if there is another disaster.  The building would also be used to refurbish mobile homes kept at the airport.  Although the mobile homes were sent to Hope for hurricane survivors, only a limited number were sent to the storm zone.
