Pryor Says New Amendment is Crucial for Border Security

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Senator Mark Pryor has proposed a new amendment that would require the Department of Transportation and the Department of Homeland Security to work together to address foreign truck drivers in the United States illegally.

Pryor, a Democrat, says many truck drivers legally cross the border from Mexico under the North American Free Trade Agreement.  He says some drivers aren't properly licensed and they don't obey other rules.  Pryor says jobs are being taken from U.S. drivers.

The legislation would require the agencies to develop clear rules within one year.
