SEPTEMBER 14, 2006 - Posted at 7:45 a.m. CDT

LITTLE ROCK, AR - The daughter-in-law of Governor Huckabee was involved in a traffic crash yesterday in Little Rock.  Police say the other driver and three passengers were injured.

Lauren Huckabee, 24, was heading east on the Interstate 630 frontage road when police say 46-year-old Robert Echols of Forrest City failed to stop at the intersection and the two vehicles collided.

Echols was taken to University Hospital where doctors said he would need surgery for broken ribs.  Three passengers sustained minor injuries.

Echols was cited for careless and prohibited driving.

Governor Huckabee said afterward that his family was praying for Echols and other passengers in the vehicle.  The governor said the family also was releived that Lauren was not seriously injured.  Lauren is married to Huckabee's son David, a recent Arkansas State University graduate.
