Region 8 Doctor Arrested and Charged with Taking Illegal Payments

LITTLE ROCK, AR - A Searcy physician has been arrested and charged with "complaint with a violation of Title 42 U.S. Code Selection 1320a-7b, soliciting and receiving remunerations."  The suspect is identified as Dr. Patrick Chan, 42, of Searcy.

U.S. Attorney Bud Cummins says Chann's case is expected to be presented to a grand jury for review in the near future.

Chann, who carries a Canadian passport and may also be a former resident of Maylasia, is currently in detention.
