Lincoln, Pryor Announce Economic Impact Grants for Region 8 Communities

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor, along with Congressman Marion Berry today announced that $443,500 in Economic Impact Grants have been awarded to several communities in the First Congressional District.

The funds are provided through the USDA Rural Development Community Facilities Program and are aimed at improving public safety, health care and training services.  The Region 8 communities will use these federal dollars to purchase equipment for their police and fire departments.

-Caraway will receive $11,500 for the purchase of a new police car.

-Jericho will receive $5,200 for computer equipment for its fire department.

-Madison will receive $20,200 for police equipment.

-Mammoth Spring will receive $12,900 for a police car.

-Manila will receive $85,500 for its fire station.

-McCrory will receive $15,600 for police cars.

-Parkin will receive $38,500 for police cars.

-Patterson will receive $37,500 for its fire station.
