BRANSON, MO - A Branson man wants to build a $250 million development featuring an indoor water park and aquarium on the western edge of the Branson strip.
Called Pinnacle Wells of Branson, the resort would be patterned after a European village. Developer David Cushman says it would feature a gushing waterway, a talking fountain and nightly light shows.
The project also would include themed shops and restaurants built on 70 acres of land his family has owned for generations.
City leaders in Branson are trying to widen the town's appeal beyond the elderly tourists who first helped it boom in the early 1990s, drawn by wholesome country music and crooners.
A study found that the resort could eventually draw more than 400,000 new visitors to Branson each year.
