LITTLE ROCK, AR - Smoke filled the cabin of a small jet carrying passengers from Cincinatti to Little Rock, but the aircraft landed safely.

The plane was carrying 35 passengers and three crew members yesterday.  No one was injured.

A flight attendant on Delta Flight 6241 reported smelling smoke in the plane's bathroom when the plane was about 20 minutes from Little Rock.  Airport spokesman T.J. Williams says smoke filled the cabin.

The pilot said an oil temperature reading was higher than usual and he believed there might have been a fire in the plane's number one engine, which he shut down.

Williams said the Emraer jet, owned by Chautauqua Airlines, was having a new engine put in Sunday night.  Chautauqua Airlines is owned by Republic Airways Holdings of Indianapolis.
