UofA Enters World Trade Centers Association

SEPTEMBER 18, 2006 - Posted at 3:45 p.m. CDT

FAYETTEVILLE, AR - The University of Arkansas announced today it has agreed to join the World Trade Centers Association.  The school says the affiliation will improve foreign trade opportunities for state businesses.

The association offers a variety of services and facilities to help businesses conduct transactions across borders.

The UA is one of only a few universities affiliated with the association.  The UA affiliate is to be initially located in Rogers.  It will receive state and federal funding and will receive revenue from businesses around Arkansas that become members.  The center will also serve northeast Oklahoma and southwest Missouri.
