Veteran Northeast Arkansas Broadcaster Dies

JONESBORO, AR - Veteran northeast Arkansas broadcaster Paul Boden of Jonesboro died Sunday at St. Bernard's Medical Center.

At the time of his death, Boden was the owner and CEO of 'U.S. Gospel News,' one of the nation's top gospel music news publications, and was also a local promoter of gospel music concerts. He was the former owner and general manager of KNEA radio in Jonesboro, and was known by many northeast Arkansans for his radio broadcasts of high school sporting events, particularly the annual NEA high school basketball tournament.

Boden was the recipient of several awards throughout his broadcasting and music-related careers.

He was a veteran of the Arkansas National Guard and the Temple Baptist Church.

A celebration of Boden's life is set for Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. at Temple Baptist Church of Jonesboro.  Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park.  Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. this evening at Emerson Funeral Home.

Boden's family has requested that lasting memorials be sent to the Temple Baptist Church building fund, 2405 Stadium Boulevard, Jonesboro, AR 72401.
