Voters in Bay, Trumann Approve Millage Hikes

JONESBORO, AR - Voters in the Bay and Trumann school districts approved proposed millage hikes yesterday.

In Bay, voters approved a proposal to raise mills from 34.8 to 37.7 by a 60.9 percent to 39.1 percent tally.  In Trumann, a propsal to raise mills from 30.0 to 38.2 mills was approved 59.6 percent to 40.4.

Voters in the Highland district also approved a millage increase by 54.8 percent to 45.2.

Meanwhile, voters in the Blytheville, Jackson County and Maynard school districts rejected millage hikes.
