LITTLE ROCK, AR - Governor Huckabee today helped in ultra-marathoner Dean Karnazes' quest to run 50 marathons in 50 days.  Huckabee joined Karnazes for the first two miles along Little Rock's marathon course.

Huckabee said Karnazes' effort serves as an inspiration.

The governor said he had already run 7.5 miles this morning before joining Karnazes.

Huckabee, who has focused on health issues after losing more than 100 pounds, has become an active runner and plans to run in the New York Marathon this year.  Huckabee ran in the Little Rock Marathon this year and last year, and the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington last October.

Karnazes began his campaign to run 50 consecutive marathons by running the Lewis & Clark Marathon in St. Charles, Missouri.  During the week, when there aren't active marathons, he'll run marathon routes.

Karnazes is using his quest to raise money for youth programs.
