Sesquicentennial Celebration Begins in Pocahontas This Evening

POCAHONTAS, AR - Pocahontas begins a three-week long celebration observing 150 years as a township this evening.

The Randolph County community's sesquicentennial celebration begins at 6 p.m. with a parade, which will begin at Pocahontas High School and continue down Thomasville Avenue to the Randolph County Courthouse, downtown.

Following the parade, opening ceremonies and a "town social" are planned on the courthouse lawn.

The celebration will continue through October 8.
