KANSAS CITY, MO - Stormy weather blamed for twelve deaths in the Midwest and South has subsided today, though flood warnings remain in effect for parts of southeastern Missouri and northern Arkansas.

The National Weather Service says a flood warning is in effect today for the St. Francis River near St. Francis, Arkansas, which borders Dunklin County in Missouri's Bootheel.

The weather service reports that over 24 hours, parts of northeast Arkansas and southeast Missouri got more than ten inches of rain.
