National Weather Service Confirms Two Tornado Touchdowns in Region 8

ASH FLAT, AR - Surveys by the National Weather Service show that at least two tornadoes touched down in Arkansas during a series of storms over the weekend.  One twister, with winds of 75 miles per hour, touched down near Franklin in Izard County and traveled nearly four miles to Myron.

A second twister, with 100 mile-per-hour winds, hit southeast of Franklin and traveled to a few miles south of Ash Flat in Sharp County.

Forecasters still have unconfirmed reports of tornadoes at Maynard, Pocahontas and Ravenden Springs.
