LITTLE ROCK, AR - A state judge today dismissed an Arkansas state representative's complaint over the results of the June 13 run-off election.  In a recount for a state Senate contest, Arnell Willis' apparent victory was reversed.

Circuit Judge L.T. Simes II today dismissed Willis' lawsuit against Earle School Superintendent Jack Crumbly and the St. Francis County Election Commission.  Simes ruled that the Senate seat is a state office and said his court did not have jurisdiction over the challenge.  State law says that election challenges to state offices must be filed in Pulaski County.

Mike Easley, an attorney for Willis, said the state representative planned to appeal the state Supreme Court once a formal order was entered.
