LITTLE ROCK, AR - The state Health and Human Services Department says the state expects to have a full supply of flu vaccine this year.
Health Division Director Paul Halverson says the agency expects to receive 238,000 doses of the vaccine, starting in October. That's about 25,000 more doses than last year.
Flu season usually begins in Arkansas in December and lasts into the spring.
The state is also planning to conduct a mass vaccination exercise this fall. The exercise would involve 10 to 13 counties and would be a way to test the state system of dispersing medication in the event of a pandemic.
